This year\u2019s edition of the conference will be held in Valletta, Malta.<\/p>\n<p>Aimed at academics and media industry professionals, this year\u2019s conference revolves around the broad phenomenon of on-location shooting, but is interested in examining this cinematic concept through the lens of \u201csmallness.\u201d The conference organizers are aware that the notion of \u201csmallness\u201d is peculiar, fluid, plural and relational; it can refer to the national context; the devices for cinema production; the status of authors or key figures; ethnic, religious, linguistic minorities, etc. etc.<\/p>\n<p>The conference is interdisciplinary in its perspectives and methods. We welcome proposals field of film (including silent and small gauge cinema), as different disciplines and approaches.<\/p>\n<p>We also accept the submission of organized panels (more than three presenters, not including chair and respondent) and encourage creative presentations. All presentations are to last no longer than 20 minutes, including audio-visuals.<\/p>\n<p>Possible topics include but are not limited to the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Smaller cinemas relationship to Hollywood;<\/li>\n<li>Film Festivals;<\/li>\n<li>Co-productions;<\/li>\n<li>Runaway, off-shore and location shooting;<\/li>\n<li>Production\/set design;<\/li>\n<li>Film policy;<\/li>\n<li>Film business;<\/li>\n<li>Film commissions;<\/li>\n<li>Film Studios;<\/li>\n<li>Migrating Media;<\/li>\n<li>Film Tourism;<\/li>\n<li>Film Heritage;<\/li>\n<li>Globalization and Miniaturization;<\/li>\n<li>The historical development of location shooting in a particular context.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Submission Process: A 300 word abstract and a short bio of no more than 150 words should be sent to Charlie Cauchi (<u><a href=\"mailto:info.cauchi@gmail.com?subject=Submission%20CFP\">info.cauchi@gmail.com)<\/a><\/u>. The submission deadline is 20th July 2015.<\/p>\n<p>Conference Format: 3 day conference on the island of Malta.
