{"id":1915,"date":"2015-05-26T23:54:10","date_gmt":"2015-05-26T21:54:10","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.filmfestivalresearch.org\/?p=1915"},"modified":"2015-05-27T10:59:15","modified_gmt":"2015-05-27T08:59:15","slug":"2015-update-to-the-ffrn-bibliography","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.filmfestivalresearch.org\/index.php\/2015-update-to-the-ffrn-bibliography\/","title":{"rendered":"2015 Update to the FFRN Bibliography"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In the most recent update to the open-access online bibliography of the Film Festival Research Network (FFRN) nearly a hundred new entries and references have been added since last year&#8217;s big overhaul.\u00a0 This clearly speaks to the continued productivity of the field of film festival studies.<\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, the field is active on a global scale with a number of special issues and dossiers on film festival topics having come out in 2014\/2015 in the Czech Republic (<em>Iluminace <\/em>26:1 [2014]<em>, <\/em>ed. by Jind\u0159i\u0161ka Bl\u00e1hov\u00e1), the UK (<em>Scope<\/em> 26 [2014], ed. by Ger Zielinski), Italy (<em>Cinergie<\/em> 6 [2014], ed. by Monia Acciari and Roy Menarini), Spain (<em>Secuencias: Revista de Historia del Cine<\/em> 39 [2014], ed. by Aida Vallejo) and\u00a0Quebec (<em>Synoptique <\/em>3:2 [2015], ed. by Papagena Robbins and Viviane Saglier).<\/p>\n<p>Along with the focussed special issues, a number of peer-review journals seem to become stable outlets for film festival studies research, among them are <em>Screen<\/em>, <em>Transnational Cinemas<\/em> and <em>Studies in Australasian Cinema<\/em>, which have in recent issues featured a number of festival related articles.<\/p>\n<p>This year, the first monograph in the new Framing Film Festival series, edited by Marijke de Valck and Tamara Falicov for Palgrave Macmillan, was published: Lindiwe Dovey&#8217;s book <em>Curating Africa in the Age of Film Festivals: Film Festivals, Time, Resistance <\/em>(2015) started off the series.<\/p>\n<p>The bibliography also increasingly reflects the international\/transnational nature of the field by surveying not only English-language research.\u00a0 In the current edition, German, French, Spanish and Italian entries are also listed.\u00a0 Here, we would like to thank Aida Vallejo, Minerva Campos and Enrico Vannucci for keeping us up to date with recent publications in Italian and Spanish.<\/p>\n<p>As the field and the bibliography are growing, the help of researchers in the field is essential.\u00a0 Please let us know about new publications!<\/p>\n<p>We wish you productive <a href=\"http:\/\/www.filmfestivalresearch.org\/index.php\/ffrn-bibliography\/\" target=\"_blank\">browsing<\/a> on the site.\u00a0 With increasing breadth and depth of the bilbiography the navigation is getting more complex, but the whole site is searchable for keywords and names through the search bar on the top right.\u00a0 Feel free to <a href=\"mailto:info@filmfestivalresearch.org\" target=\"_blank\">send us comments and suggestions<\/a> to improve the site.<\/p>\n<p>Until then, enjoy the reading!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In the most recent update to the open-access online bibliography of the Film Festival Research Network (FFRN) nearly a hundred new entries and references have been added since last year&#8217;s big overhaul.\u00a0 This clearly speaks to the continued productivity of &hellip;
